The Long Island, New York Chapter of the American Society of Media Photographers welcomes you to our website and we hope you have an enjoyable and informative visit! ASMP Long Island is photographers helping photographers.
The Long Island Chapter of ASMP provides venues for lectures, seminars, portfolio reviews, studio tours and demonstrations showcasing some of the most advanced technologies available to today’s photographers, along with an exchange of ideas and concerns dealing with the business climate we must all function in.
Several local colleges have partnered with us over the years and have introduced ASMP Long Island to students who will one day be our future.
Our Chapter leaders feel it is imperative for the novice photographer to know how to safeguard his images and his rights in a global community that has an insatiable hunger for free downloads, free images and free media. All the seminars and meetings we present are relevant to what is happening now in the world of professional photography.
We are cautious in choosing sponsors for our events because we want to feel that we are protecting our members concerns and well-being before offering corporate sponsors the opportunity to sell and promote their newest products.
